Northwestern University: Center of Cancer Nanotechnology Excellence (NU-CCNE) (NU-CCNE)

The Northwestern University Center of Cancer Nanotechnology Excellence (NU-CCNE) is an NCI-funded collaboration between the Northwestern University's International Institute for Nanotechnology and the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center. Established in September 2005, the NU-CCNE supports multidisciplinary teams of nano-scientists, cancer biologists, engineers and clinicians who work collaboratively to develop nanomaterials and nanodevices for cancer therapeutics, drug delivery, imaging, diagnostics and monitoring applications. Center research is organized into the six multidisciplinary research projects. • Development of Barcode Assay for the Detection of Ovarian and Prostate Cancer • Deconstructing Directional Cell Motility in Metastasis through Nanopatterning • BioActivated Nanoprobes for Molecular Imaging of Cancer • Nanoscale Encasement and Targeted Delivery of Multifunctional Therapeutic Agents for Hematological Cancer and Solid Tumors • TiO2 Nanocomposites for Targeted Treatment and Imaging of Prostate Cancer • Multifunctional Nanostructures for Therapeutic Targeting of Breast Cancer
